Who Am I?
Jacob McMurray is a Seattle-based curator, graphic designer, publisher and occasionally other things. He is the co-founder and resident designer for the award-winning, literary publishing nano-empire of Payseur & Schmidt. Jacob subjects the world to sporadic bursts of random creativity - artistic and cultural installations, exhibitions, and musical performances, all of which are largely (and wisely) ignored by the public. These myriad anti-profit ventures are made possible by his senior curator position at the Experience Music Project, where he has organized over a dozen exhibitions, including Paper Scissors ROCK: 25 Years of Northwest Punk Poster Design and Jimi Hendrix: An Evolution of Sound. In his negative free time he delights in printing manifestos on his 1906 Pearl Improved #11 letterpress and waiting for the revolution to come. He lives in Seattle with his lovely wife Sara, daughter Isobel, dog Kozy Shack, three cats, Nyarlathotep, Yog-Sothoth, and Pico Poncharello, and three chickens, Lulu, Rosie, and Frida. He is becoming increasingly obsessed with the idea of beekeeping.
