Audio Tour: John Seman, Jacob McMurray
Art Direction: Rik Allen, Addy Froehlich, Jacob McMurray
Venue:
Science Fiction Museum, November 17, 2007 - April 27, 2008
Synopsis:
Innersphere was a survey of Washington-based artist Rik Allen's recent rocket-themed work. His metal and glass creations hearken back to the heyday of science fiction and our cultural fascination with outer space and the future.
A minimalist look-and-feel was developed for the gallery to further emphasize Allen's work and give a feeling of the loneliness of outer space. Outside of the main gallery, the focus shifted to the thought and production processes behind Rik Allen's works, featuring a ten minute film of oral history footage at Allen's studio, and a display of Allen's glassworking tools.
