Synopsis:
Artist to Icon: Early Photographs of Elvis, Dylan, and the Beatles is an exhibition of photographs that provide a glimpse into the lives of Elvis Presley, the Beatles and Bob Dylan before they became rock 'n' roll legends.
The exhibition includes 48 rarely seen black-and-white photographs by five photographers. These images provide a journey back in time to unique moments in history—between 1956 and 1965—when these artists' talents and styles were coming together as voices of cultural change. The photographers—Alfred Wertheimer (Elvis Presley), Astrid Kirchherr (the Beatles), Jürgen Vollmer (the Beatles), Max Scheler (the Beatles) and Daniel Kramer (Bob Dylan)—managed to capture images that tell the story of the innocence, ambition and unbounded adventure of the first decade of rock 'n' roll.
