Cuckoo's Nest is a chapbook that I designed and was published by my small press Payseur & Schmidt in 2006 and explores the creative possibilities of advertising through an archaeological lens of 21st century Seattle material culture. Cuckoo's Nest is based on a physical installation of the same name within the Eight Essential Ingredients exhibition on display at Seattle's Richard Hugo House from February 3 - March 31, 2006. Limited to 50 numbered copies, this work of collaborative genius features artwork by Portland-based graphic designer Mike King, and texts by authors Jasen Emmons, Bret Fetzer, Angela Jane Fountas, L. Suzanne Stockman, and Therese Littleton.
